Five Chinese officials targeted for taking bribes

Five Chinese officials have been accused of taking bribes in five separate cases, according to a Wednesday statement from the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

Wang Huishi, formerly with Erdos city government in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was arrested Tuesday, accused of taking bribes, abuse of power and seeking personal gain.

Lin Yunye, former head of the provincial land and resources department in southwest China's Yunnan Province, was arrested on Sept. 30 for suspected bribe-taking.

Huang Zongxin, former director of the state-owned assets supervision and administration commission of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Huang Jihong, former head of the disciplinary inspection group with Ningxia's food and drug administrative department, as well as Du Qian, former Party committee secretary of Ningxia's Pingluo County are also under investigation.
