LHASA, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Online consumers in Lhasa in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region now can receive delivery packages in one day, after the first e-commerce warehousing and logistics park in the region was opened.

JD.com, China's second-largest e-commerce company, constructed the logistics park in Lhasa, covering nearly 10,000 square meters.

Consumers in Lhasa can receive products on the same day as purchase, while those in Tibet's other cities can receive delivery the next day.

Previously, consumers in Lhasa have to wait at least one week before they received deliveries, due to poor transport.

Tibet has boosted e-commerce in recent years. In 2016, mobile transactions accounted for 83.3 percent of all online transactions in Tibet, according to Alipay. Enditem
