BEIJING, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese lawmakers voiced their support for a draft law on national supervision, a major reform in the country's political system.
The draft was developed from the current Administrative Supervision Law and submitted for review at the ongoing bi-monthly session of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.
Drafting the National Supervision Law is an important reform of the national supervision system, according to a statement issued after a panel discussion Saturday.
The legislation will summarize the achievements of pilot reforms and form a unified, authoritative and efficient supervision system with Chinese characteristics, said the statement.
China has begun to pilot the system in Beijing and the provinces of Shanxi and Zhejiang.
Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, attended the discussion. Enditem
