CHENGDU, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Film-makers from BRICS countries will have more exchanges in the future.
At the 2nd BRICS Film Festival, concluded Tuesday in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, the film-makers agreed to jointly make a film each year in the next five years.
The first co-production, "Where Has Time Gone," premiered during the festival, with directors from five countries all contributing to the same theme.
The Beijing Film Academy also issued plans to provide 40 full scholarships from 2017 to 2021 to assist film makers and visiting scholars from other BRICS countries in their research.
"I am sure that film will play an important role in cultural exchanges," said Zhang Hongsen, deputy head of the State Administration of Press, publication, Radio, Film and Television.
A total of 33 films were screened during the festival, seven from China. Enditem
