LUOYANG, China, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Hu Binyuan, 39, got 73 targets to claim the men's double trap title at the 13th Chinese National Games on Tuesday in central China's Yiyang county.
"Men's double trap was taken off from the programme of the 2020 Olympic Games. This is my last National Games, so I hope I can do my best." Hu said, "In the final, I felt the pressure, but I controlled myself and put me into the game."
Hu from Shanghai has participated in Chinese National Games six times since 1997, and he got gold medal in 9th Chinese National Games in 2001, and got bronze medal in 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
International Shooting Sports Federation adjusted the shooting events at the Olympics in June that three events was eliminated including men's double trap.
"I'm sad when I heard the news, especially for some veterans like me. I need time to think about my future." Hu added.
Pan Qiang from Shandong province got 68 targets to win a silver medal, and Yang Yiyang from Henan province got bronze medal with 51 targets.
The 13th Chinese National Games will officially run from Aug. 27 to Sept. 8 in Tianjin, but trap and skeet shooting events held in Yiyang, a little county in central China's Henan province. Enditem
