HEFEI, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Four people are dead, five missing and more than 130,000 residents have been affected after super typhoon Lekima swept through east China's Anhui Province, local authorities said Monday.

As of 1 a.m. on Monday, the typhoon has affected about 131,800 residents in Anhui and damaged nearly 6,000 hectares of crops. It has toppled 364 houses and damaged 439 houses, inflicting a direct economic loss of 437 million yuan (about 61.92 million U.S. dollars), said the provincial emergency management department.

Currently, the department has allocated 800 folding beds, 5,000 quilts in two batches to the affected areas.

As of Monday, some roads in the typhoon-hit areas have not been restored to traffic and more than 5,000 households have not restored electricity supply. Communications in a few counties and townships in the city of Ningguo are still unstable, said local authorities.

More than 20,000 local residents affected in the areas have been relocated and the rescue force has coordinated helicopters to relocate the trapped residents to safe places.

The ninth and strongest typhoon of the year, Lekima, landed Saturday in the city of Wenling in Zhejiang and made a second landing Sunday on the coast of Qingdao in Shandong Province. By Monday morning, it had left 45 dead and 16 missing in the two provinces. Enditem
