BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- In the midst of a shutdown for the coronavirus pandemic, the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) is reducing salaries for the league office's top and middle earning staff.

The Chief Executive Officer Wang Dawei will take a 35% pay cut, the CBA company said on Tuesday, saying that the company, clubs and their investors face financial pressure with the continued operation expenses on players' wages and venue rental.

The whole CBA family should work together to deal with the economic impact on the organization and clubs, the company said.

The Chinese Basketball League has been on hiatus since February 1 and the schedule to restart the season has not been decided yet, despite the huge improvements in COVID-19 control in China. Enditem
