ZHUJI, China, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Despite a game-high 42 points from Dallas Moore, the Guangzhou Loong Lions were smashed by the Sichuan Blue Whales 104-91 in the CBA here on Monday.
Losing seven points to Sichuan in the first quarter, Guangzhou managed to take a one-point lead to end the first half, thanks to 26 points from Moore.
Sichuan rallied back in the third quarter to build a nine-point advantage, which led to the final victory after both sides broke even with a 22-22 draw in the last quarter.
"Our players are less defensive in the first half, so we changed the strategy later and it was vital for today's victory," said Sichuan head coach Zhou Jinli.
"I'm also happy to see that the senior players encourage the younger ones all the time, and I hope they could keep it up in the following games," he added.
Marcus Georges-Hunt scored a team-high 32 points for Sichuan, with Li Yuanyu adding 22 points. Enditem
