SHANGHAI, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed lower Friday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active gold contract for December 2021 delivery was down 0.10 yuan (about 1.6 U.S. cents) to close at 370.48 yuan a gram.

The total trading volume for eight listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 214,378 lots, with a turnover of about 79.85 billion yuan.
