CHINA'S ASTRONOMICAL TELESCOPE
A total of nine optical astronomical telescope projects have been settled in Lenghu, northwest China's Qinghai Province, with an investment of nearly 2 billion yuan (about 310 million U.S. dollars), sources here said.
Tian Cairang, an official with the Lenghu industrial park, said in recent years, several astronomical telescope projects have been launched at the Lenghu astronomical observatory base. Among them is the 50-centimeter Binocular Network (50BiN) project, implemented by the China West Normal University and officially put into use in December 2020.
ASTEROID NAMED AFTER CHINESE UNIVERSITY
An asteroid has been named after Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), a comprehensive research university, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) said on Monday.
A ceremony took place online and offline on Monday to announce the naming of Asteroid Huazhongkejida (Chinese pinyin of HUST), approved by the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
SF AIRLINES
SF Airlines, China's largest air-cargo carrier, will support creating a global air-cargo hub in Ezhou in central China's Hubei Province, the cargo airline said Monday.
SF Airlines will gradually build an air route network covering the country and connecting worldwide with the Ezhou Huahu Airport as a core, targeting to reinforce local economy and sustain the country's modern logistics system, said the cargo airline. Enditem
