BEIJING, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news in China.

SOLAR EXPLORATION SATELLITE

China's first solar exploration satellite has observed nearly 100 solar eruptions and completed its in-orbit tests and experiments. Scientific data from the satellite's observations has been officially released and shared with the world.

The satellite has, for the first time globally, obtained the fine structure of solar Hɑ, SiΙ and FeΙ spectral lines in orbit, which can directly reflect the characteristics of solar eruptions.

HPV VACCINE

A recent study has found that China's first self-developed HPV vaccine Cecolin can offer female adults full immunity against two types of human papillomavirus (HPV).

A group of Chinese researchers analyzed data from 66-month follow-up visits as a part of the bivalent vaccine's Phase 3 clinical trial and found that its efficacy against high-grade genital lesions, typical symptoms of cervical cancer, reached 100 percent.

PARTICLE SIZE OF LUNAR FARSIDE REGOLITH

Chinese scientists have estimated the particle size of lunar farside regolith on the basis of the world's first in-situ temperature measurement made by Chang'e-4 spacecraft on the dark side of the Moon.

The loosely-packed rocky grains deposited on the lunar surface at the Chang'e-4 landing site are on average approximately 15 micrometers in depth, indicating an immature regolith below the surface. Enditem
