BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

SUPPORT FOR CLEAN ENERGY

China Development Bank has boosted its financial support for energy development in the first three quarters of this year.

The policy bank issued 406.9 billion yuan (about 57.2 billion U.S. dollars) of loans in the energy sector between January and September to support clean energy development, energy supply guarantee, and clean and efficient coal use.

GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE

China Development Bank, one of the country's policy banks, has issued 12 billion yuan (about 1.69 billion U.S. dollars) of green bonds to boost the green transformation of infrastructure.

Raised funds will go towards green projects, including the urban environmental infrastructure and the construction and operation of the urban and rural public transportation system.

It is estimated that these projects could help cut carbon dioxide emissions by around 59,200 tonnes and reduce standard coal consumption by 29,500 tonnes per year.

STROKE TREATMENT

Clinicians have found in a new study that removing blood clots within 12 hours after the onset of a stroke can noticeably improve patients' health and reduce death rates.

The findings by a Chinese team were reported in the New England Journal of Medicine on Thursday. The efforts were led by researchers from the First Affiliated Hospital of the University of Science and Technology of China. Enditem
