BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

ZGC FORUM

The 2022 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) is slated to take place in Beijing from Nov. 25 to 30, the event's organizers said on Friday.

The forum, themed "Open Cooperation for a Shared Future," will this year host 126 events, including 60 parallel forums, more than double the number of parallel forums offered in 2021.

These parallel forums revolve around frontier tech and hot topics such as engineering innovation, open-source chip and brain-computer interface, according to a media conference held by the organizers.

NUCLEAR TECH

A giant tokamak, an experimental machine in which an ultra-high temperature plasma can be created to simulate the conditions for fusion reaction, has been dismantled and well-packaged in Hefei, the capital of east China's Anhui Province. It is scheduled to be shipped to Thailand in mid-December.

The facility, renamed Thailand Tokamak 1 (TT-1), was developed by the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP).

According to a cooperation agreement signed in 2017, the ASIPP would donate the tokamak to the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT) and help the country install and operate this facility and cultivate talent in the domain of fusion energy research and development.

QUANTUM HUB

On both sides of Yunfei Road in the eastern Chinese city of Hefei, there are dozens of quantum technology companies that have achieved a wide variety of cutting-edge scientific results. The road is now known as "Quantum Street" to many locals.

In the control center of a quantum metropolitan area network (MAN) at QuantumCTek Co., Ltd, key holding and consumption data is among the information updated on a large screen in real-time.

With eight core sites, 159 access sites, and a 1,147-kilometer-long optical fiber, the MAN allows the encrypted transmission of data through the e-government's extranet, providing services to the government, banks and enterprises. Enditem
