TEHRAN, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Iran and Oman on Tuesday highlighted their determination to raise bilateral ties to higher levels and increase interactions, said a statement published by the Iranian presidency.
During a phone call, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said reviewed the latest progress in the implementation of the cooperation documents signed between the two countries during Raisi's visit to Muscat in 2022 and the Omani sultan's visit to Tehran in 2023.
They also discussed the regional and international cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
During Raisi's trip to Muscat in May 2022, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi signed 12 memorandums of understanding (MoUs), covering the fields of oil and gas, transport, education, trade and investment, according to the Oman News Agency.
