NEW TYPE OF DRONE
Chinese researchers have developed a new type of drone designed with two pairs of fixed wings and multiple rotors.
Developed by Changchun Changguang Boxiang UAV Co., Ltd., the bi-wing, multi-rotor aircraft can achieve rapid vertical takeoff and landing. It also boasts higher wind and cold resistance and has the capability to reach an altitude of 5,500 meters, according to the developer.
WEATHER-OBSERVATION SHIP
A China-made unmanned ship for cloud and sea-fog observation has embarked on its first long-duration voyage in the Yellow Sea, covering a distance of 110 nautical miles so far.
Current sea-fog observation stations in China are located near the coast, with detection ranges of only a few kilometers. However, the unmanned ship can expand the observation range to 180 nautical miles (330 km) from the coast.
RESEARCH FRONTIERS
China on Tuesday released reports on research hotspots and emerging frontiers in 2023 and selected 128 research frontiers that have performed actively or developed rapidly within this year.
The research frontiers cover fields such as agricultural science, botany and zoology, ecology and environmental science, Earth science, clinical medicine and biological science. Enditem
