BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.21 percent to 3,148.02 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.6 percent lower at 9,673.32 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices reached 909.72 billion yuan (about 128.08 billion U.S. dollars), down from the 912.5 billion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
Shares related to big data, brain-computer interface and satellite navigation saw declines, while those related to gas production, shipping and electricity generation led the gains.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.95 percent to close at 1,860.37 points. Enditem
