TURTLE, BIRD & DINOSAUR TRACKS
A scientific research team on Saturday revealed the discovery of fossilized tracks left by prehistoric creatures in northwest China dating back hundreds of millions of years, including tracks left by birds, turtles and dinosaurs.
The fossils were buried in red sandstone dating back to the Lower Cretaceous period in Yongjing County of the Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province.
Between 2020 and 2022, staff from a dinosaur museum in a local Yellow River scenic area discovered a trove of six track sites. Five sites were attributed to ancient birds, including one containing turtle tracks, and another was attributed to theropod dinosaurs.
TIBETAN MEDICINE
Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on Saturday established a research institute for the study of the "Four Treatises of Tibetan Medicine," a Tibetan medical classic, located at the University of Tibetan Medicine.
Written between the eighth and 12th centuries, the "Four Treatises of Tibetan Medicine" is the most influential foundational work in Tibetan medicine. It comprehensively reflects the historical trajectory of the development of Tibetan medicine and has played an important role in the development of the field across the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and the trans-Himalayan and Mongolian regions.
The work has been included on the Chinese archival document heritage list and the UNESCO International Memory of the World Register, making it one of the treasures of China's traditional culture.
CYBERSECURITY
China has strengthened its cybersecurity, with particular emphasis on legislation, talent development and the protection of individuals' rights and interests.
The country has implemented laws and regulations to safeguard cyberspace and data security, protect personal information, and secure critical information infrastructure.
