BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

THIRD GLOBAL DIGITAL TRADE EXPO

More than 400 new products and technologies will debut at the third Global Digital Trade Expo, scheduled from Sept. 25 to 29 in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

A dedicated zone for future industries will be established for the first time this year, showcasing cutting-edge technologies in areas such as intelligent robots and low-altitude economy.

DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES

AI-powered digital humans, surgical robots, humanoid robots, VR driving and virtual dressing rooms. These were among the dazzling displays of digital technologies at a recent major services trade fair in Beijing.

The 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), which closed on Monday, attracted over 450 Fortune 500 enterprises and companies taking the lead in their respective industries, as well as 85 countries and international organizations.

Experts at the fair believed that digital technologies are profoundly impacting global service trade by reducing transaction costs and improving efficiency, which is becoming a driver of economic globalization.

ARCHAEOLOGY EDUCATION

The Chinese government on Wednesday released guidelines to promote the high-quality development of educational travel in the field of archaeology.

These guidelines highlight the benefits of utilizing China's abundant archaeological resources for educational purposes. The guidelines state that educational travel "is conducive to preserving and promoting traditional Chinese culture, as well as enhancing the public's scientific literacy and humanistic spirit."

Institutions involved in archaeology, including archaeological site parks, museums, research institutes, and excavation sites, are encouraged to organize educational travel activities, according to the guidelines. Enditem
