BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua met with Marco Vinicio Balarezo Lizarzaburu, Peruvian ambassador to China, in Beijing on Thursday.

Fu noted that Peru is one of the first Latin American countries to establish diplomatic relations with New China and a comprehensive strategic partnership with China.

Xinhua is willing to further implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen cooperation with mainstream media, think tanks and other institutions of Peru, tell well the stories of cultural integration and friendship between China and Peru, and work together to make the voice of the Global South heard in the international public opinion arena, Fu said.

Noting that this year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held in Peru, Fu said Xinhua will leverage its global presence and advantages to cover the event.

Balarezo said media plays an important role in the exchanges between Peru and China. He added that the Peruvian side is willing to provide more support and convenience for media cooperation between the two countries and continue to promote the in-depth development of Peru-China cooperation.
