BEIJING, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- He Wenzhong, former deputy general manager of the China Electronic Technology Group Corporation, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and removed from public office, an official statement said on Friday.

With the approval of the CPC Central Committee, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision launched an investigation into He for serious violations of discipline and law.

The investigation revealed that He violated the Party's frugality code by accepting gifts, money, and attending banquets in violation of rules.

He abused his power by unlawfully promoting and appointing officials. He crossed the line of integrity, engaging in transactional relationships involving money and sexual favors.

Driven by greed, He used his position to benefit others in business operations and illegally accepted large sums of money.

He's illegal gains from his violations of discipline and law have been confiscated. His suspected criminal activities have been transferred to the procuratorial authorities for legal review and prosecution, the statement said. Enditem
