SHENZHOU-19 CREW
Chinese astronauts Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong and Wang Haoze will carry out the Shenzhou-19 crewed spaceflight mission, and Cai will be the commander, the China Manned Space Agency announced at a press conference on Tuesday.
The Shenzhou-19 crewed spaceship is scheduled to be launched at 4:27 a.m. Wednesday (Beijing Time) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China, said Lin Xiqiang, spokesperson of the agency.
SYNTHETIC CELL STUDY
The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) announced on Monday that it has launched an international program on synthetic cells in Shenzhen, south China to promote frontier research in life sciences and biotechnological innovation on a global scale.
Leveraging the scientific prowess of the CAS Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, the program aims to tackle groundbreaking research questions in the field of synthetic biology. Additionally, the initiative seeks to pool expertise worldwide and establish a cooperative paradigm to tackle common challenges faced by humanity, according to the CAS, China's top institution in terms of natural sciences.
SELF-CLEANING ELECTRODE
A group of Chinese researchers have developed a novel self-cleaning electrode by constructing a micro-nanostructure of a highly active catalyst, achieving highly stable synthesis of alkaline-earth metal peroxides (MO2).
