BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

SHENZHOU-19 ASTRONAUTS

The three astronauts of China's Shenzhou-19 spaceflight mission have entered the Tiangong space station and met with another astronaut trio on Wednesday, starting a new round of in-orbit crew handover.

The Shenzhou-18 crew opened the hatch at 12:51 p.m. (Beijing Time) and greeted the new arrivals, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).

They will live and work together for about five days to complete planned tasks and handover work, the CMSA said.

METEOROLOGICAL ALERTS

With the improvement of China's meteorological disaster risk warning capability, meteorological alerts can be delivered to the public within three to eight minutes, covering 98.8 percent of the country's population, China Science Daily has reported.

Xiong Shaoyuan, deputy chief of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), told a press conference on Tuesday that the accuracy of heavy rain warnings has reached 93 percent, and the lead time for severe convective weather warnings has increased to 43 minutes, marking a significant improvement for the country's disaster control.

STEM CELL DATA

The world's first international standard for stem cell data, ISO8472-1, has been officially released, the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said Wednesday.

This standard is expected to enhance global stem cell data management and make contributions to the advancement of stem cell research and applications, according to the institute. Enditem
