BEIJING, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.24 percent to 3,272.01 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.28 percent lower at 10,455.5 points.
The combined turnover of the two indices stood at 2.23 trillion yuan (about 313.5 billion U.S. dollars), up from 2.22 trillion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
Stocks related to electronic information suffered major losses, while those in the ceramic sector led the gains.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.88 percent to close at 2,123.74 points on Friday. Enditem
