BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.73 percent to 3,379.84 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.83 percent lower at 11,037.78 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at 1.85 trillion yuan (about 257.07 billion U.S. dollars), down from the 2.01 trillion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
Shares in sectors of electronic devices, medical equipment and aircraft manufacturing suffered major losses.
