BEIJING, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

APSTAR-6E SATELLITE

China's first all-electric propulsion telecommunication satellite has been formally delivered to its customer while in orbit, opening a new chapter of comprehensive operation and development, the Science and Technology Daily reported on Tuesday.

The APSTAR-6E satellite, developed by the China Academy of Space Technology, is a geostationary orbit satellite based on the DFH-3E satellite platform, with a designed lifespan of 15 years.

LONG MARCH CARRIER ROCKET

China's Long March-12 Y1 carrier rocket was transported to the launching area of the Hainan commercial space launch site in south China's Hainan Province on Tuesday, according to the Hainan International Commercial Aerospace Launch Co., Ltd.

The company announced that the rocket will be launched at an appropriate time in the near future.

LARGE-SCALE APPLICATION OF 5G

China aims to achieve a 5G user penetration rate of more than 85 percent by the end of 2027, as the world's second-largest economy accelerates the large-scale applications of 5G technologies.

By that point, there will be 38 5G base stations for every 10,000 people, 5G will account for 75 percent of mobile internet traffic, and the number of Internet of Things terminals connected by 5G in the country will exceed 100 million, according to an action plan formulated by multiple government departments.
