TAIPEI, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- A delegation of students and teachers from seven Chinese mainland universities visited historical and cultural sites in Taiwan on Thursday, the second day of their trip to the island.

In the afternoon, the delegation toured the Lin An Tai Historical House and Museum, a southern-Fujian-style courtyard originally built more than 200 years ago.

The compound has become a cultural hub showcasing southern-Fujian traditions. Today, it serves as a center for traditional folk culture, offering activities such as first-birthday grab ceremonies, as well as classes in traditional arts and crafts.

"We witnessed key moments from traditional Chinese rituals. This place serves not only as a platform for cultural education but also as a vital site for preserving Chinese heritage," said Peng Yihang, a Tsinghua University student.

The delegation also visited the Taipei Confucius Temple, where they learned about Confucius rituals and ceremonial instruments.

On Thursday, they also participated in exchange activities at a university, where they were warmly welcomed.

Invited by the Taiwan-based Ma Ying-jeou Culture and Education Foundation, the delegation includes representatives from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Zhejiang University, Fujian Normal University and Beijing Sport University. Enditem
