HOHHOT, China, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Czech athlete Ester Ledecka and Edwin Coratti of Italy won the women's and the men's parallel giant slaloms respectively on Saturday in 2024-25 VISA FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup season in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
At the Mylin Valley Ski Resort, 29-year-old Ledecka took a lead and crossed the finishing line with a time of one minute 10.12 seconds for the gold, 1.65 seconds ahead of Alexandra Krol-Walas of Poland, who finished second. Japan's Tsubaki Miki took the bronze.
"It feels great. It was not an easy race today," Ledecka said after the event. "This is my first time in Mylin, maybe first for everyone, but it is a beautiful hill, and I am looking forward to (tomorrow). I will try my best and we will see if I am fast," she added.
In the men's event, Coratti topped the podium on 1:06.43, ahead of South Korea's Kim Sang-kyum, who claimed silver, and Kim's teammate Lee Sang-ho at third. China's Bi Ye finished fourth.
Athletes will compete in women's and men's parallel slalom on Sunday at the Mylin Valley Ski Resort, located in Harqin Banner, Chifeng City of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Enditem
