CBA round 11: Beijing Ducks leads standings after beating Shenzhen

BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Ducks saw off the Shenzhen Leopards 106-90 in the 2024-2025 Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA) regular season on Friday, and leads the tally with a 10-1 record.

Before the final quarter, the Beijing Ducks tied the Shenzhen Leopards 75-75. Midway through the fourth quarter, Zeng Fanbo and Chen Ying-Chun contributed three three-pointers to lift Beijing to a 92-86 lead with six minutes and 57 seconds to go. Shenzhen failed to score in the last four minutes, seeing its rival bag its fourth consecutive victory.

Eugene German of Beijing pocketed 28 points, plus nine rebounds and seven assists. Zeng added 20 points and Zhou Qi had 18 points and seven rebounds. Markell Johnson bagged 28 points for Shenzhen.

In a game played on Saturday, Guo Ailun scored 32 points and the Guangzhou Loong Lions beat the Jilin Northeast Tigers 140-117.

The Loong Lions led by 18 in the second quarter before the Northeast Tigers cut it to 65-50 at halftime. In the third quarter, Guo scored 13 points to help the Loong Lions take an 108-83 lead en route to the victory.

In other games, the Zhejiang Lions beat the Guangdong Southern Tigers 103-92, the defending champion Liaoning Flying Leopards defeated the Jiangsu Dragons 118-112, the Qingdao Eagles edged the Beijing Royal Fighters 102-99, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls upset the Shanxi Loongs 131-127, the Tianjin Pioneers overpowered the Ningbo Rockets 108-95, the Nanjing Monkey Kings eased past the Sichuan Blue Whales 126-108, and the Shandong Heroes smashed the Fujian Sturgeons 111-92.
