HANGZHOU, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The 2024 Mayors Exchange Conference on Maritime Silk Road City Influence was held on Saturday in China's coastal city of Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, to facilitate win-win cooperation and innovation among cities along the Maritime Silk Road.
Nearly 400 participants, including domestic and foreign government officials and representatives of international organizations, discussed opportunities for cooperation and development at the meeting, which was co-hosted by parties including Xinhua News Agency and local authorities.
Attendees had discussions aiming to spur fresh energy for Maritime Silk Road cities through dialogue, and local officials said Zhejiang will further promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and bolster the Maritime Silk Road to boost city-to-city exchanges and cooperation.
Liu Jian, vice president of Xinhua, said at the conference that as an initiator of the Belt and Road Studies Network, Xinhua is willing to work with all parties to create a brighter future for Maritime Silk Road cities through higher-quality think tank research, resource sharing and international exchange.
