SHANGHAI, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Chinese footballer Cao Yunding took to social media to announce his retirement on Tuesday, after 14 seasons with Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.
The 35-year-old released three video clips recording his career with the caption, "A 14-year stay with an unfinished dream, leaving with both highlights and regrets."
Hailed as one of China's most talented players in recent decades, Cao joined Shenhua in 2011, laying on 39 goals and 78 assists across more than 300 appearances and winning three Chinese FA Cup titles and one CFA Super Cup, but the winger fell out of favor last season after head coach Leonid Slutsky's arrival, making only seven outings.
First capped in 2016, Cao played five times for China's national team. Enditem
