Volkswagen delivers over 2.9 million cars in China in 2024

HEFEI, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Volkswagen Group delivered over 2.9 million vehicles in the Chinese market in 2024 while its global vehicle deliveries surpassed 9 million last year, according to the German automaker.

In the same year, the company sold more than 200,000 new energy vehicles in China, among which the sales of ID. models increased by 17 percent year on year.

"If I had to describe 2024 in one word, it would be transformation. We made significant strides in bringing our strategy to life, demonstrating our long-term commitment to China," said Ralf Brandstaetter, chairman and CEO of Volkswagen Group China.

According to Volkswagen Group China, a series of new models and technologies will be launched and unveiled in China in 2025, which includes the first series model of the new AUDI brand and prototypes of Volkswagen models on the Compact Main Platform.

"We will be focused on delivering first results of our 'In China, For China' strategy and bring it on the street," said Brandstaetter, adding that he is very confident and optimistic about the group's future in China. Enditem
