BEIJING, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.43 percent to 3,346.72 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.16 percent higher at 10,749.46 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by these two indices was about 1.72 trillion yuan (239.17 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.82 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks related to family doctors and medical services led the gains, while those in the cultured diamond and real estate industries suffered losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.8 percent to close at 2,215.3 points. Enditem
