HONG KONG, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong registered 4.74 million visitor arrivals in January, up 24 percent year-on-year, the Hong Kong Tourism Board announced on Friday, citing preliminary data.
Among them, approximately 3.73 million were from the Chinese mainland, up 25 percent year-on-year. Both figures set a new record for monthly visitor arrivals since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Non-mainland visits in January totaled about 1.02 million, marking the third consecutive month exceeding one million in monthly arrivals. Both short-haul and long-haul markets saw increases of over 20 percent year-on-year.
In December 2024, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government released the Development Blueprint for Hong Kong's Tourism Industry 2.0.
