BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Wang Yong, former vice chairman of the government of southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, has been prosecuted on suspicion of taking bribes, the top procuratorate said on Tuesday.

The prosecution came following the conclusion of an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision into Wang's alleged misconduct. Prosecutors in the city of Chenzhou, central China's Hunan Province, filed a lawsuit against Wang with the intermediate people's court of the city, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

Wang, also a former member of the leading Party members group of the regional government, was charged with taking undue advantage of his former positions in the civil aviation sector to seek benefits for others and illegally accepting vast amounts of money and property in return. Enditem
