BEIJING, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Newly-promoted Yunnan Yukun began its 2025 Chinese Super League (CSL) campaign with a home defeat on Saturday, while Shanghai Shenhua secured a dramatic last-minute victory.
Playing in front of 22,966 home fans in their CSL debut, Yunnan conceded in the 53rd minute when Beijing Guoan's Fabio Abreu fired a powerful strike into the net. Cao Yongjing sealed the 2-0 victory in the 79th minute, tapping in from close range.
Brazilian striker Saulo Mineiro, who joined Shenhua in January, shined in his CSL debut, scoring once and providing an assist in a 2-1 win over Changchun Yatai.
Mineiro broke the deadlock in the 29th minute, pouncing on a loose ball to score. After Changchun's Tan Long equalized, Mineiro set up Andre Luis for a low finish in the 97th minute, securing victory in stoppage time.
Elsewhere, Felipe Silva's lone goal gave Chengdu Rongcheng a 1-0 win over Wuhan Three Towns.
