Germany claims three titles at FIL Luge World Cup in Yanqing

BEIJING, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- German lugers claimed three of the five titles at the International Luge Federation (FIL) Luge World Cup, which concluded on Sunday in Yanqing, Beijing's suburb.

Max Langenhan of Germany clocked 1 minute, 55.051 seconds to win the men's singles title, while his compatriot Julia Taubitz secured the women's singles title in 1:58.926.

Beijing Winter Olympic champions Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt of Germany topped the podium in the men's doubles with a time of 1:58.143. The women's doubles title went to Austria's Selina Egle and Lara Michaela Kipp, who finished in 1:59.896.

Austria also won the team relay in 4:11.933, followed by Germany and the United States in second and third, respectively, while China placed sixth.

The Luge World Cup was the first international luge event held at the National Sliding Center in Yanqing since the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Enditem
