BEIJING, March 14 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Ducks' promising forward Zeng Fanbo was named Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Player of the Week for the first time in his career on Friday.
Playing his third CBA season, Zeng averaged 24.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.8 blocks in 38 minutes of playing time per game, leading Beijing to four wins in as many matches over the past week.
The 22-year-old shot 70.8 percent from the field, nailed an average of 3.5 3-pointers per game on 63.6 percent shooting, and made all 16 free throws during this period.
Beijing is now riding on a seven-game winning streak to sit third in the 20-team standings with a 27-12 record.
For overseas players, Beijing Royal Fighters shooting guard Grant Riller posted an average of 28 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.5 assists in 39 minutes of action per game in the past four games to win the weekly honor, shooting an impressive 97.1 percent on 34 free throws.
In the Royal Fighters' 129-127 victory over the Zhejiang Golden Bulls on March 6, Riller scored 12 points in overtime, finishing with 46 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. His team is currently 11th on the table with a 22-16 record. Enditem
