BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.1 percent to 3,426.43 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.32 percent lower at 10,979.05 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.47 trillion yuan (about 205 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.52 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the electricity, bank and brain-computer interface sectors saw significant gains, while those related to games and computing power suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.28 percent to close at 2,222.35 points. Enditem
