BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) -- The 2025 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) is scheduled to be held in Beijing from March 27 to 31, focusing on cutting-edge fields from large AI models to quantum technology, an official with the Ministry of Science and Technology said Thursday.

Lin Xin, vice minister of science and technology, made the remarks at a press conference.

Themed "New Quality Productive Forces and Global Technology Cooperation," this year's annual conference of the forum comprises five major sections, including meetings and technology trading.

It will provide new ideas and insights for global innovative development in large AI models, embodied intelligence, quantum technology, biomedicine, 6G, brain-computer interfaces, and other frontier areas in 128 events, Lin said.

Talking about global cooperation, Lin said China would further broaden intergovernmental and people-to-people sci-tech cooperation. The country will accelerate the development of an open and innovative environment for science and technology, with measures such as further opening up of sci-tech programs, research data, funding and facilities.

China will also establish sci-tech service standards that are in line with international practices. It will encourage foreign-funded enterprises to carry out research and development in China and improve facilitation measures for working, residing, and entry and exit in the country, Lin added.

The Belt and Road Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation Action Plan will be implemented to a high standard, and conferences and ministerial meetings on Belt and Road sci-tech and innovation exchange will be organized. China will also advance key cooperation tasks such as personnel exchanges, joint laboratories, technology transfers, and sci-tech parks.

The vice minister also said China would actively integrate into the global innovation network, deeply participate in global sci-tech governance, and carry out joint research in key fields concerning global development and common challenges.

Founded in 2007, the forum, with its enduring focus on innovation and development, has evolved into a national-level open innovation platform and an international forum over the years. Enditem
