BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) said on Friday that it has provided guidance on overseas IP disputes to enterprises 886 times and helped them recover economic losses amounting to 14.15 billion yuan (about 1.97 billion U.S. dollars) in 2024.
During a press conference in Beijing, Guo Wen, a senior official of the CNIPA, said that the administration has continuously optimized the guidance system for addressing overseas intellectual property (IP) disputes.
It has supported the establishment of centers for overseas IP dispute guidance in many parts of the country, Guo added.
In 2024, China's IP dispute mediation organizations accepted nearly 140,000 cases and served 157,000 private enterprises.
Guo said that the CNIPA will continue to strengthen IP rights protection services for private enterprises, safeguarding their innovative achievements.
"We will also formulate relevant policy documents on IP dispute arbitration, and encourage private enterprises to resolve IP disputes through various means such as arbitration and mediation," Guo added. Enditem
