BEIJING, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Ten-man Beijing Guoan was held by Chengdu Rongcheng 1-1 on home soil in the third round of the Chinese Super League (CSL), as Fabio Abreu's penalty-kick was canceled out by Felipe Silva's strike here on Saturday.
It was Guoan's first home game since the start of the new season, with newly-naturalized attacker Sai Erjiniao making debut for the capital-based team.
Guoan broke the deadlock in the 18th minute when Yang Liyu was tripped down in the box, Fabio kept his cool to roll the penalty down the middle.
The home side was one player down in the 67th minute when Michael Ngadeu stumbled on the ground and had to bring down Felipe, the referee Ma Ning showed the red card to the Cameroonian after checking VAR.
Although Guoan enhanced the defense afterwards by replacing Sai with Bo Yang, Chengdu still got back level terms in the 78th minute with Felipe's left-footed strike from a close range.
Chengdu had the chance to turn around the game but Guoan's goalkeeper Han Jiaqi made two stunning saves in quick succession to deny Yan Dinghao's attempts, before Issa Kallon saw his missile out of the box rattle the woodwork.
After the second consecutive tie, Guoan ranks seventh with 5 points, while Chengdu places ninth with 4. Enditem
