BEIJING, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Fu Hua, president of Xinhua News Agency, met with Ban Ki-moon, former UN secretary-general and chairman of Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future, in Beijing on Saturday.

Fu appreciated Ban's active support for the Global Development Initiative and efforts to promote cooperation among the international community.

Noting that Ban has promoted exchanges and cooperation between UN agencies and Xinhua News Agency during his tenure as UN secretary-general, Fu said Xinhua is willing to deepen cooperation with the Ban Ki-moon foundation in areas such as news and communication, think tank exchanges, and joint publishing.
