WUHAN, China, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Wuhan Three Towns ended their losing streak by defeating newly promoted Yunnan Yukun 3-1 at home in the sixth round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) here on Saturday, securing their first win of the season.

The match started quickly, with Romanian forward Alexandru Tudorie scoring a header in just 38 seconds. Despite Tudorie's early substitution due to injury, Wuhan maintained momentum. In the 23rd minute, Wang Jinxian doubled the lead with a header from Deng Hanwen's cross. Deng then secured the third goal with a right-footed shot 13 minutes later.

Yunnan Yukun reduced the deficit in the 89th minute after Wuhan's Manuel Palacios committed a handball in the penalty area. Pedro Henrique, who had played for Wuhan Three Towns in the 2024 season, scoring 14 goals in 22 appearances, converted the penalty.

This victory came shortly after Wuhan announced the departure of head coach Filipe Martins, who had led the team to one draw and four losses since his appointment on January 17. Assistant coach Deng Zhuoxiang stepped in as interim manager and emphasized the team's critical need for a turnaround. "We have no way out and must strive for a result that satisfies our fans," Deng said before the match.

In other matches, league leaders Shandong Taishan whitewashed Shenzhen Peng City 4-0. Dalian Yingbo and Tianjin Jinmen Tiger ended in a 1-1 draw. Meizhou Hakka suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Changchun Yatai, and Qingdao Hainiu lost 1-0 to Chengdu Rongcheng, remaining the only team without a win this season.
