1st LD-Writethru: Chinese shares close lower Tuesday

BEIJING, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.05 percent to 3,286.65 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index also closed 0.05 percent lower at 9,849.8 points.

The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.02 trillion yuan (roughly 141.61 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.06 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.

Shares in the humanoid robot and chemicals sectors led the gains, while those related to electricity and e-commerce were among the biggest losers.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.13 percent to close at 1,931.94 points. Enditem
