Hong Kong decided Wednesday to grant 1 million HK dollars from
its Disaster Relief Fund to help earthquake victims in Jiangxi
province, southeast of Chinese Mainland.
The quake measuring 5.7 on Richter scale hit the province late
in November and affected the lives of nearly 5 million people.
The Disaster Relief Fund was established in December, 1993 for
emergency help in places outside Hong Kong.
