Two people were confirmed dead and another five injured in a bus accident that occurred Saturday afternoon in this capital city of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local police sources said on Sunday.

At around 2:00 p.m. Saturday, a bus rushed onto a covered bus stop suddenly, leaving one person who was waiting for the bus dead and six more injured on the spot.

One of the injured died later in hospital, with the remaining five still receiving emergency medical treatment. Two of the injured were in critical condition, the sources said.

Cause of the accident is under investigation.
