A total of 8.1 million HK dollars (US$1.05 million) smuggled
goods were seized by the police in Hong Kong, government of the
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) said on Monday.
The cargo was intercepted by the customs and marine police on
the sea northwest off Hong Kong Island on Saturday afternoon, said
an announcement published on the government website.
Two containers on the vessel carried smuggled goods varying from
scrap metal, printing machines, electric motors to film and film
processing chemicals.
The total value of the items is estimated as high as 8.1 million
HK dollars (US$1.05 million).
Two people were arrested in the case and the investigation is
still going on.
