Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee (BOCOG) Thursday signed
letters of responsibility with its department chiefs to make them
assume responsibility if anything involving corruption happens.
Liu Jingmin, executive vice-president of the BOCOG, inked the
letters on behalf of the organizing committee with heads of all
BOCOG departments during a meeting restating necessity and
importance of anti-corruption while preparing for the Games.
"We promised a clean Olympic Games free of corruption when we
won the bid. Now the department heads have signed the letters of
responsibility, which is their commitment to prevent corruption
within the BOCOG," Liu said.
According to the agreement, heads of the departments will be
held responsible if wrongdoing such as breaching anti-corruption
regulation, embezzlement or corruption occurs.
Beijing Olympics will kick off on August 8,
2008 in the most populous country.
