Some 100 delegates from 12 countries will attend the First
Tibetan Culture Forum in Beijing from October 10 to 11, where they
will discuss cultural protection in the Tibet Autonomous Region of
China.
The chief organizer, the China Association for the Preservation
and Development of Tibetan Culture (CAPDTC), said the forum will
include speeches, exhibitions of Tibetan culture, a tour in Beijing
and a visit to Tibet by train running on the newly launched Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
Officials, celebrities, journalists and Tibetologists from 12
countries as well as CAPDTC members will attend the forum. More
than 30 delegates are expected to deliver speeches.
The organizer hopes the forum will help more people get to know
Tibet, motivate them to go there and gradually learn to love Tibet.
The forum also provides opportunities for Tibet to promote its
culture to the outside world.
