A strong earthquake measuring 6.0 degrees on the Richter scale
struck off Taiwan's southeastern coast Monday, the Hong Kong
Observatory said in a bulletin released on Monday night.
The intense earthquake was recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory
at about 18:03 (1003 GMT) Monday, according to the bulletin. There
was no immediate report of casualty.
The epicenter was initially determined to be at 20.9 degrees
north latitude and 119.8 degrees east longitude, about 200 km
south-southwest of Kaohsiung City.
